The Coronavirus Affecting the Stock Market
Investors have been fearful of a wider spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are concerned about a potential pandemic if the virus is not contained. COVID-19 has already caused slowing global growth (especially in China where the virus originated from) and thus lower forecasted corporate earnings and stock prices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 2,000 points Monday through Wednesday of this week, or roughly 7% in three trading days.
